Licensed Professional Counselor & Approved Clinical Supervisor

ABOUT DAWN FULLER

Before joining the Beautiful Journey Counseling® team full time, I worked in the public schools for 18 years both in the role of a Special Education teacher and Licensed School Counselor where I worked with adolescents and families to develop effective coping and communication skills and to guide them through the many challenges of adolescence and young adult life. Simultaneously, I continued my training and obtained my license as an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor). Being able to support clients in this capacity has been truly humbling.

Since coming to Beautiful Journey Counseling® full time, I have been able to explore my own passion and was drawn to pursue training in Perinatal Mental Health. I am passionate about this work because of my own personal perinatal experiences so I know how difficult this journey can be for parents. I am committed to supporting my clients with any of the struggles that they may face on the road to parenthood.

DAWN FULLER’S APPROACH TO THERAPY

Although I tend to naturally favor a Cognitive Behavioral Approach, I also pull from the humanistic model, which incorporates building a strong rapport and developing appropriate goals in a safe and trusting environment. With this, I am open to utilizing a variety of techniques and approaches that will best suit the needs of my clients. Having broad training allows me to tailor my approach based on the circumstance and needs of the individual client so that ultimately we can foster a relationship that will promote personal growth and autonomy.

Life can sometimes throw us unexpected curveballs leaving us with the task of navigating difficult feelings and emotions. I am dedicated to supporting my clients as they navigate through the most difficult times of their lives.

PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH

I completed my Perinatal Mental Health training through Postpartum Support International. This specialized training allows me to work with individuals who are experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders as well as any other issues related to family planning and the perinatal and postpartum periods.

If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you are just ready to move in a new direction in your life, we look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

The new you will feel empowered, confident, connected, and on a positive path towards growth.
