ABOUT DAWN FULLER
Dawn Fuller brings nearly two decades of experience in public education as a Special Education teacher and Licensed School Counselor. Her background includes helping adolescents and families develop effective coping strategies and communication skills to navigate the challenges of adolescence and young adulthood. While pursuing her LPC license, she transitioned to private practice, and pursued training in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International. This specialized training allows Dawn to work with individuals who are experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders as well as any other issues related to family planning and the perinatal and postpartum periods.
As a dedicated professional, I bring enthusiasm and commitment to everything I do. In my spare time, I can usually be found at sporting events supporting my children, where I embrace teamwork and community spirit. I am passionate about volunteering in my town, and I value spending quality time with friends and family. Outside of work, I enjoy discovering new restaurants and attending concerts, which gives me a chance to unwind and experience new things. But no matter where life takes me, my all-time favorite place to be is at the beach, where I find peace and inspiration.
DAWN FULLER’S APPROACH TO THERAPY
Although I tend to naturally favor a Cognitive Behavioral Approach, I also pull from the humanistic model, which incorporates building a strong rapport and developing appropriate goals in a safe and trusting environment. I have training in Interpersonal Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and have received extensive training in grief and loss. Having broad training allows me to tailor my approach based on the circumstance and needs of the individual client so that ultimately we can foster a relationship that will promote personal growth and autonomy.
I am particularly passionate about my work in perinatal mental health because of my own personal perinatal experiences; I know how difficult this journey can be for parents. I am committed to supporting my clients with any of the struggles that they may face on the road to parenthood.
Life can sometimes throw us unexpected curveballs leaving us with the task of navigating difficult feelings and emotions. I am dedicated to supporting my clients as they navigate through the most difficult times of their lives.
