ABOUT DEBORAH HAMILTON,

It really can be “all about you!”

I provide my clients with insight on how to live their best life peacefully and with ease. I am a Licensed Therapist and former School Counselor with vast experience assisting those who struggle with mental health concerns and wish to focus on personal improvement. I help my clients tackle life’s struggles by providing easy-to-use techniques to manage their emotions and navigate through life’s challenges.

My school counseling experience helped to shape me into the therapist I am today. In the school environment, I supported my students with individual counseling, group counseling, and crisis counseling. I worked with countless parents and guided entire families through some of the toughest times. I gained valuable knowledge in understanding family systems and provided practical interventions for parents to improve communication with their children.

I have extensive experience working with adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation, loss, trauma, failure, bullying, loneliness, rejection, fear, school avoidance, peer pressure, and parental pressure. Additionally, I have experience working with adults who have struggled with anxiety, grief, depression, unhealthy relationships, poor communication skills, major life transitions, and more.

I provide support and guidance to adolescents, adults, and struggling parents in a safe, warm, and supportive environment where clients can express their emotions freely while working to improve their coping skills and daily functioning. I also work with couples to improve their communication, including the ability to “hear” each other’s thoughts and feelings without judgment and improve intimacy issues. I am dedicated to helping my clients make positive and healthy changes to become highly productive, well-adjusted, self-fulfilled, and content.

APPROACH TO THERAPY

My approach to therapy is person-centered. Using this approach, I help my clients reach their own internal source of healing, to experience growth needed for change. As a person-centered therapist, I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients. Strong therapeutic relationships develop easily by providing a kind, caring, genuinely non-judgmental atmosphere. My clients always feel safe to openly share their feelings.

Within this safe environment, I aim to fully understand my client’s thoughts and feelings that affect their actions, reactions, and behaviors. When clients manage emotions better and improve coping skills, using techniques like constructive self-reflection, quality of life naturally improves.

Ultimately, my goal is to help clients feel more peaceful and present in their lives. We will work together to discover your inner strengths and use them to transform your days to be much brighter.

COUPLES THERAPY

I also enjoy working with couples and have completed Levels 1 and 2 training in the Gottman method. I specialize in helping couples reconnect by improving their communication, including the ability to “hear” each other’s thoughts and feelings without judgment and improve intimacy issues.

If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you are just ready to move in a new direction in your life, we look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

The new you will feel empowered, confident, connected, and on a positive path towards growth.
