About Janel Blake

Janel brings a warm, compassionate, and integrative approach to therapy. She believes every stage of life carries its own challenges and opportunities for growth, and that therapy can offer a supportive space to build self-awareness, recognize personal strengths, and find new ways to move forward.

Janel works with clients across the lifespan. Her approach is collaborative, strength-based, and solution-focused: rather than concentrating solely on what needs to be "fixed," she works alongside clients to explore their experiences, patterns, and existing strengths, helping them build practical strategies and lasting confidence as they navigate life's transitions.

Drawing on her background in Exercise Physiology, Janel also brings a mind-body lens to her work, considering how movement, rest, sleep, time outdoors, and body image intersect with emotional well-being.

Janel specializes in:

  • Midlife & Hormonal Transitions – Supporting women through perimenopause, menopause, and midlife identity shifts, addressing changes in mood, anxiety, sleep, relationships, and energy in a nonjudgmental space.
  • Neurodiversity & ADHD – Helping neurodivergent individuals better understand and appreciate how they experience the world, while building practical tools for daily responsibilities, relationships, and expectations.
  • Children, Adolescents & Families – Drawing on extensive experience as a Child Study Team member, Mental Health Clinician, and Elementary School Counselor, Janel supports youth navigating ADHD, anxiety, sensory needs, OCD, school avoidance, grief, and family changes.

Janel's work draws from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mind-body therapies, Positive Psychology, Family Therapy, and Play Therapy. A mother of three and a lifelong learner, she brings curiosity, perspective, warmth, and genuine respect to every client's unique path.

Janel Blake’s Approach To Therapy

I believe therapy should be a place where you feel heard, understood, and genuinely accepted. I bring a calm, nurturing presence to my work, and my goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable simply being yourself.

My role isn't to tell you who you should be or what your life should look like. It's to help you understand yourself more clearly, recognize your strengths, notice what may be getting in your way, and develop tools that support the life you want to create.

Because no two people are alike, I tailor our work together to your individual needs, experiences, and goals — drawing on the strength-based, solution-focused, and mind-body approaches that shape my practice more broadly.
