Play Therapy at Beautiful Journey Counseling®

Play therapy at Beautiful Journey Counseling® helps children express their feelings through play, which is their natural way of communicating.

Similar to counseling for adults, play therapy helps children use toys to talk about their emotions and experiences. In a supportive environment, children can explore their thoughts and feelings, which leads to better emotional awareness and healing. This approach helps them manage emotions, solve problems, and improve social skills. Our therapists guide children through this process, building resilience and self-awareness, and involving family members to support and understand them. At Beautiful Journey Counseling®, we create a nurturing space where children can grow emotionally and mentally, benefiting both the child and their family.

What are some common issues addressed by play therapy?

Play therapy helps children develop skills, such as:

  • Identifying feelings
  • Regulating emotions
  • Learning and using coping skills
  • Anger management skills
  • Impulse control
  • Frustration tolerance

How We Help

Beautiful Journey Counseling supports children through play therapy by providing a safe and therapeutic environment where they can express their feelings and develop essential skills. Your child will meet with their therapist once a week for about 30 to 40 minutes, during which they will engage in activities designed to help them identify feelings, regulate emotions, learn coping skills, manage anger, control impulses, and tolerate frustration. To ensure a collaborative approach, the therapist will also meet with parents for a few minutes before or after each session to address any concerns and provide updates on progress, while maintaining confidentiality to create a trusting and effective therapeutic space for your child.

We are here to help you overcome challenges and move forward to a healthier and more fulfilling future.
