I am a Licensed Associate Counselor and certified School Counselor with a passion for working with children, adolescents, and adults alike. I started my journey in the schools and quickly recognized my passion for mental health stretched farther than the school-based setting. I earned my Clinical Mental Health Certificate and used it to broaden my experience as a clinician.
My role as a school counselor has included working with students from age seven to eighteen. In this role, I have served as the school Anti-Bullying Specialist, collaborated with the district Child Study Team, and have worked directly with students on a variety of issues including anxiety, self-esteem, bullying, suicidal ideation, and school avoidance. In my role as a clinician at CarePlus NJ, I worked with individuals of all ages from young children to adults. I have found I have an aptness for working with clients struggling with adjustment disorder and anxiety, and I recognize the resilience and commitment of my clients throughout the treatment process. Private practice work allows me to continue my journey with others, diving deeper into their needs and seeing amazing growth.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, driving down to the Jersey Shore for a trip to the beach, relaxing with a good book, and trying new recipes in the kitchen!
APPROACH TO THERAPY
As a therapist, one of my primary tenets is building a strong rapport with my clients and ensuring a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment. My approach to counseling draws from client-centered, positive psychology, and cognitive behavioral techniques, and also integrates play therapy when working with children. My experience working with all ages has allowed me to build strong connections with my clients, and to facilitate lasting change and growth.
