Licensed Clinical Social Worker

About Tara Timpone:

I have always been drawn to the helping field and helping others be the best version of themselves. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Montclair State University. I then attended Hunter College where I received my Master’s degree in Social Work.

Over the last 10 years, I have worked with children and families from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. During my time as a social worker, I have gained invaluable insights and expertise in addressing clients’ unique challenges and needs. For the past eight years, I have served as a school social worker in public schools, where I have had the opportunity to support students’ emotional and social well-being, advocating for their needs, and fostering a positive school environment.

Approach to therapy

In counseling sessions, it is important to me to build rapport with the clients that I am working with. I utilize a variety of techniques to empower clients by focusing on their inherent abilities and resources. I create a calming environment that fosters relaxation and safety, allowing clients to feel comfortable and open during sessions. My client-centered therapy ensures that the individual’s needs and perspectives drive the therapeutic process, promoting a sense of autonomy and respect. I also help clients identify and build on positive outcomes and effective strategies.

Additionally, I integrate techniques to help clients identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, facilitating long-term change and improved mental health. This comprehensive approach supports clients in achieving their therapeutic goals in a holistic and empowering manner.

If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you are just ready to move in a new direction in your life, we look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

The new you will feel empowered, confident, connected, and on a positive path towards growth.
